Two years ago, Bernie Madoff stole around 300 million dollars. The Mets got some of the money back, but they weren't supposed to. Last Thursday, Moody's Investors Service sued the Mets up to 1 billion dollars.
Two weeks ago, they said they were going to sell 25% of the team. After they got sued they might now need to sell the whole team. I think the Wilpons should sell the whole team, and so do all Mets fans. Ever since the Madoff investing, Jason Bay was the only really good player the Mets signed.
Also, if the Wilpons don't sell the Mets, they'll raise the ticket prices to make more money. Then less people will attend games at Citi Field. This is three months after the Mets cut their prices 25%. Now, if the Wilpons don't sell the team, they'll have to raise it. The last two seasons, they had losing records, both those seasons they got no amazing players, because they lost money from Madoff. Weather they have the Wilpons own them or not, I hope the Mets could get a few all-stars.
