Mets First Half Report Card

The Mets are currently going into the all-star break with a 46-45 record. Here is my Mets report card for the the first half.

Pitching - B - The Mets are playing without their ace Johan Santana. Mike Pelfrey has not been pitching well, and R.A Dickey's knuckleball hasn't been as effective as last year. Dillon Gee is 8-3, but has not been very accurate. Capuano and Niese have both been decent.

Infield - B+ -
Ike Davis was good until he went to the DL, and David Wright was decent until he hurt his back. Ruben Tejada and Justin Turner both started off hot, but have recently cooled off. Daniel Murphy has done a good job filling in for Davis.

Outfield - A- - Carlos Beltran has stayed healthy, and been good. Jason Bay started off cool, but has recently been starting to hit well, and Pagan was on the DL for a major part, but otherwise has been solid.

Coaching - A- - Terry Collins has been better than Jerry Manuel, and he is very inspiring. Mookie Wilson is a good first base coach, and Chip Hale has held up many runners, when they should've been sent home.

Overall - B+ - The Mets have been streaky, but are over .500.
