This off-season, the Mets wanted a superstar and only got Jason Bay. Besides Bay, Omar Minaya signed 2 Japanese pitchers (Igarashi, and Takahashi) and 2 back-up catchers (Barajas, and Blanco). All the fans said how Omar is just signing trash. Should the Mets fans apologize him? Takahashi might be the best in the Mets bullpen (beside K-ROD), and could be the 5th starter replacing Oliver Perez who allowed 7 walks in 3.1 innings today. Igarashi was hot before going to the DL. And Barajas and Blanco both hit walk-off HRs vs San Francisco.
Now that it's June, most of those signings were failures. Bay isn't contributing,and Igarashi has been on the D.L. most of the year. Barajas is in a slump,but had a great April and May.
