My Thoughts on K-Rod Situation
Mets closer Fransisco Rodriguez has a contract for 37 million dollars, and if he pitches more than 54 games this year, the Mets will have to pay him an extra 17 million, which will be a disaster after what happened with Madoff. Rodriguez is entering the final year of his 3 year contract. Over the years, the Mets bullpen has been blowing many good starts by the starting pitcher, and without K-Rod, it can only get worse (even though he has blown games before). Dan Warthen should make sure to save his time for the end of the season, because if they let him pitch over 15 games in April, his 54 games will be over in mid-August. Also, they should bring him in the 8th inning if the Mets are up by 3 or less runs, to maximize his time. I f he goes one inning over 54 games, the Mets will have to waste 17 million dollars. Lets hope the K-rod could make the most out of his 54 games.

Actually, NjMetFan, if he goes over 55 games, he recieves a 17.5 mill option for next year,so he doesn't get any of that money unless he decides to pick up on the option. anonymous.
